To wallpaper or not to wallpaper ...

The very detailed and involved process of decorating my new Etsy room has taken a new turn ... WALLPAPER.

I know it's a scourge to many ... but mostly because it's old and yucky and you have to spend a few weeks trying to scrape it down.

BUT .... check this out ....

oooohhhh....

Rich was less-than enthusiastic as I was lovingly stroking the sample at Lowe's this weekend ... But we both think just doing one wall (with the rest a nice coordinating color) would be nice.

So... I can't make a decision this big without the help of my blog peeps!! :)

1.) YES/NO for the wallpaper
2.) If YES, which color to coordinate; If NO, what color instead?

yes, go for it!!!! this wallpaper is beautiful, it reminds me of your hair pieces! I would probably paint the other walls a dusty rose color or maybe even a light sage green. :D

Yes to wallpaper! I would keep the rest of the walls very neutral, even a warm white! to make your pretty papered wall the biggest focal point and keep your studio nice and bright!

Do it! I like the wallpaper. One wall seems like it would be just enough and I, like Meredith, would probably keep the other walls in the white/cream range. Good luck! Take pics when it's done so we can see!

YES!

I would do it with that darker pinkish color, or the green!

And I LOVE that paper! It is so beautiful! You said you found it at Lowes?

Yes~ go for it!

I would suggest finding a clost match for the beige background in the wallpaper so that there is some continuity in the wall.

I plan to have fun with wallpaper too once we have our own place.
One bold wall!

Thanks so much guys! Great ideas...gotta think about the color a bit more, but I'll DEFINITELY get pics up before during and after :) hehe.

@Ali --- Yep! It's by the brandname "Belle Fleur" -- but you have to special order it at Lowe's. I found it online, too though! (cheaper.)

yes on the wallpaper. you could even do like pink on the rest of the walls, but it would have to be the PERFECT pink otherwise it would just be tacky. aside from that i agree with a neutral.

Yes! that wallpaper is gorgeous! If you're unsure about sticking it to the wall why dont you wallpaper a board and stick it up? Or line the back of a shelf with it and display all your gorgeous shoes in front. That way you can have the wallpaper and move it whenever you like :D

Yes! Paper is lovely and seems like it would be inspirational. I would do a contrasting wall in an excellent green color to make it feel like a garden!

Yes! And I agree on trying to find the closest match to the background beige of the wallpaper. Or otherwise, paint the other walls in a cream colour to make the room really bright!
