Downton Abbey -- season 4!

This day has been long-awaited in my household ... "Downton Abbey"returns with Season 4 here in the U.S.!!!

It's one of the few times when the U.K. viewers get to watch before the U.S., but I'm OK with that since it is a U.K. show :)

**SPOILERS BELOW**

At the end of last season, Mary (left) gave birth to a baby boy, and her husband, Matthew  died in a car wreck whilst reveling in his post-birth joy.

WHAT!?

Turns out, the actor wanted to leave the show, so naturally, they killed him off.

As all the previews suggest, this season will center on Mary working through her grief and coming to terms with her new single-mum status.

I'm most interested in the Anna/Bates story.

Bates has returned from his false imprisonment an so far, things are happy and nice with he and Anna.

I have a sneaking suspicion something will churn things up for them this season ......

If you haven't watched the series yet, I encourage you to check it out!!! Just ask anyone with a uterus ... it's "UUUHH MAAYYY ZZIIINNGGGG."

My poor husband knows not to enter the room when Downton is on.
(He knows he will get the "SHUSH!!!")

Breaking Bad = Good

The conclusion of "Breaking Bad" has had such a huge presence in pop culture in recent weeks.

I started watching it about a year ago. My husband (then boyfriend) and I would watch an episode with dinner. Then IMMEDIATELY have to watch 2 more consecutive episodes until it was obviously time to go to bed (or else he would be late for work in the morning!).

Jesse and Walt having a beer after a long night at work.

It's rare to find a show like that. Not just that it has cliff-hanger endings ... but the characters were so complicated that you couldn't figure out how you felt about everything.

I've heard a lot about how it's so hard to watch and so violent and so traumatic ... but really, I what other directions could it take?

It's about cancer ... drugs ... infidelity ... murder ...  all the bad things in life.

But I think it's all the bad things that make you realize the good. And in the end, that's what it's really about: Family, loyalty and friendship.

What I'm looking forward to (entertainment-wise)

First, two British dramas that I LOVE and cry after each episode!

 1.) "Call the Midwife"

If you haven't heard of this yet ... definitely check it out! I'm sure Season 1 is available on Netflix, and if you are at all into heart-warming historical drama, than this is your ticket!  No idea when Season 2 will make it over to the States. I hear they are just shooting it in the UK now .. :(

2.) "Downton Abbey"

It's just so romantical ... and it makes me SWOON!!! Sigh. It's like a soap opera with amazing costumes, scenery, and good acting. Season 3 starts in January ... and I believe PBS is re-playing Season 2 beforehand.

3.) "Les Miserables" -- The movie!!

Super excited for this movie!!!! I'm a pretty devout fan of the musical .. seen it twice! And Richard says he might maybe possibly want to see it, too. HA! SUCCESS!!

4.)  "World War Z" -- (though I haven't read the book ... and though it supposedly has nothing to do with the book). But I still love a good zombie movie.

Have I missed anything?

Deliver us from evil

I've been lusting after these plates from trixiedelicious for a while now. Aren't they so cheeky! She also has the "Seven Heavenly Virtues" set, but they are both sold out at the moment! sniff sniff!

Anyway, I've been on this kick of trying to better myself since I've moved into the new place. You know, a new start and all that.

But, it's really hard! I guess the first step I've mastered is guilt. Now, when I think badly about someone who is making my life difficult,I get a little twinge---a pause-- of regret. Guilt is good.

It's so hard to be a good person, really. I guess I should rephrase that. I consider most people to be mostly good ... but to be void of any bad characteristics is nearly impossible, I suppose.

It's just human.

No matter though, I am trying my hardest to be better, and not talk badly about people, or give rude hand gestures when driving, or allow other people to make me feel bad. Because, after all, when you are happy, you make other people happy!

Does anyone watch "Intervention?"

I don't think I've blogged about it before, but If you've never seen it, you should really check it out! It's on Monday night's at 9 p.m. on A&E. Really gripping stuff. Makes you think your life isn't so bad compared to all these recovering addicts.

But I guess we all have a bit of that darkness inside.

OH!!

Almost forgot.

Here is a badly drawn example of my new logo, I think.

Any thoughts? Like it or no?

THANKS! :) --Emily

p.s. Sale coming soon I think!!! Gotta get some more goodies made up in the meantime though :) :) -
