 In other news! COOPER WAGON SIGHTING! I so want this car...but with a black top (like my old one -- RIP.) I swear I wasn't poised with my camera out the window...I was snapping Etsy photos at the time :)

Guess what? 

• Yesterday (February 24, 2008) was exactly ONE YEAR AGO that I joined Etsy!
  

• And guess what else? Yesterday (February 24, 2009) was the day I broke the 1,000 sales marker!
  

Yay!

So, to celebrate, I am going to list more items and work even harder to make more than 1,000 for next year! 

Whew. 

Etsy is a hard life, but I'm so glad I have the little extra income as a safety net. My work is implementing furlough days (5 over the next 6 months) and that is so scary.

I am hopeful though that someday I can make this little etsy shop into a real big-girl business with  a professional website and maybe even an office......drool.....

A balanced breakfast

Here is my yummy breakfast I made this morning! This is truly an odd and picture-worthy occasion. Beyond the fact that I usually don't eat breakfast (mostly because I get up closer to lunchtime), I never eat this well-balanced!

And it's not even that well-balanced, actually. Remember those cereal commercials that showed the kid with a glass of milk AND orange juice?? What was up with that? What kid would drink both of those things at one meal???

Anyway, It is a nice treat for yourself to slow down every once in a while and enjoy a meal :)

Cheering up on a chilly day!

Here is a picture of my orchid (now in FULL bloom!) and a new outfit that I love to cheer you folks up on a winter day!

I tried to find some statistics about how February is a depressing month, but no luck.

Here's hoping the weather doesn't get you down, and that you live in a more hospitable climate :)

Here is why my day will be good (or at least okay).

1.) Starbucks

2.) Bought some new hummus for lunch/snacking at work

3.) Got lots to list on Etsy

4.) The sun is out (though it is cold)

Happy Valentine's Day! (or not)

This is such a weird day for everyone. It's all about comparisons. 

If you're single, you compare yourself with someone who has a partner. If you've got a partner, you compare yourself with someone who's engaged. If you're engaged, you compare yourself with someone who's married. If you're married, you compare yourself with someone with kids.

It goes on and on.....

But, regardless, I hope everyone is has a day full of love--- whether it be from from friends, family, or total strangers ---I hope you feel it some today :)

My sweetie was WAITING FOR ME in the parking lot at my work last night!!!!! He had a box of roses (see picture) and a card with Hello Kitty on it and a nice long note :)

What a sneakie!

It was sweet though. The poor guy had to wait for over an hour because the paper was late due to the stimulus bill passing. Hheeehe. 

Well, I am off  to compare my roses with all the other gals at work! (kidding!)

A change in the weather

This is the first crown I (EVER EVER) made! Isn't it cute? I think I need to revive the simplistic style. I tend to get excited about the decoration process...but the really basic looks classic I think. 

Look how short my hair was!!! 

SO much has happened since then. New city, new apartment, new man...

I was just thinking a few days ago about how the weather sometimes follows your life.

Last week it was icy and cold here -- covered in a layer of crusty salt. 

I remember thinking how it never would be clean and dry again. But, lo and behold: It rained 2 days ago and yesterday was super windy!

It's funny like that. Just when you think everything is lost, it can all come back and be made right again. 

I am holding the hope of good weather for my life.  :)

Whew!

Isn't it funny that when you try to have a relaxing day, it ends up being the most hectic and full of chores!?

I thought I was going to have a laid back weekend this past one. 

The plan was to go to Mom and Dad's--do my taxes and laundry--then etsy stuff!

WOAH. Taxes are kicking my butt this year. I owe. :( It's never happened to me before, so it came as a bit of a shock. Oh well. What can you do, right?

So, the rest of the visit was good and more laid back, just hanging out with the folks and Lucy (their little dog and my BFF). :)

Then I get back to the apartment and just feel SO overwhelmed with:

Custom orders

Dishes and putting laundry away

Figuring out what to eat for dinner/no groceries

Pile of bills/tax stuff to file

Argh! I really wish I could have curled up with a nice book and a latte :) Maybe next weekend.

OH NO WAIT! That is Valentine's Day! :) 

Anyone have any exciting plans? Me and my sweetie are going to dinner in Baltimore and possibly watching a cheesy romance. I have hinted (told) that I would like some flowers :) hehehe SO--I will update if/when that happens!
