Selfies

Have you seen the "selfie" documentary by Dove?

Makes me thankful I grew up in the age when pictures of yourself were limited to a single roll of film (half of which were blurry and useless) OR that awful school picture day.

Being able to instantly take and post pictures is definitely a lot of pressure for girls (and women!)

It made me think of something similar in an AP Psych class in high school where everyone was supposed to write "something nice" anonymously about everyone else in the room. I remember the majority of my nice things were "She's quiet," or, "She's nice."
I remember being so upset that no one said "She's pretty," or "I love her hair" --- something physical.
That sort of validation is so important to a teenager.

I suppose we're all seeking validation in our lives in one form or another.

The wiggles ... in my head!!!!

After you watch this ... you will be either be:

a.) confused  or
b.) scared

At first I was totally creeped out by little Ella's (my 2-year-old niece) obsession with the "Wiggles." She calls them the wee-wees....I think I already mentioned that.

Anyway, after 2 solid days of singing, dancing and watching everything "wiggle-related" I am starting to see the obsession.

The songs are catchy! You have to admit. After our big family dinner, Rich sang "the monkey song" on the way home! hahahahaaa BUSTED.

SO...consider this your exposure to the world of the wiggles... aren't you glad you aren't a 2-year-old?

Have yourself a good cry.

(MOVING...AH! My life in boxes.)

I'm a crier. I cry at sad movies, I cry at happy movies. I cry at romantic movies, even (sometimes) the end of intense action movies! But I especially cry from music. I'm sure driving down the road is dangerous for me most of the time because I frequently tear up!

But, with so much routine put into crying, I tend to depend on it for a stress relief when I'm stressed out. And what other time does one get stressed out more except when they are in the process of MOVING!

So, I have compiled a few videos of songs that will give me (and maybe you!) some happy tears.

It's healthy, I think :)

Here's "Baby Mine" from "Dumbo."

Here's "Bring Him Home" from "Les Miserables." (Sorry about the captions...lame.)

Here's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" from "Meet Me in St. Louis." (p.s. I am SO excited for Christmas this year!! Don't know why. I was totally not into it last year....)

What did I miss? What makes YOU cry???
