I feel the same way about hoarding my porcupine quills which I use for traditional crafts like earrings and other jewelry. My boyfriend was asking me if I was using my jar of quills I had in my studio and turned to him and asked why suspiciously. He said if I wasn't using them could he give them to a basket maker he met recently. I am all down for supporting other artists, but I was shocked. I looked at him like he had two heads and had just burst into flames. I sad no quickly. Not to sound mean, but you don't come by quills every day. It involves dead animals (roadkill) and messy work, sometimes equally painful work to get the quills. "Nope." I said. That guy could get his own quills...I really wanted to say - tell him to go on the highway because he will find lots there! Natures bounty is fickle. I don't want to be left without my quills if I need to do jewelry or baskets in the future. I my little stash away in my studio so they are out of sight now. So I completely understand your joy. Completely! Stash away as much as you can, but leave some to grow next year.REBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10218450420363531131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5691506120093126753.post-10139713705640732832008-08-25T21:17:00.000-07:002008-08-25T21:17:00.000-07:00I am addicted to the passion flower vine. If I untangle its tendrils in about an hour or two it will twine its way back around the support. The Hunky Gardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09575735370537683666noreply@blogger.com
